Myths In Ayurveda

Since ages, Ayurveda has been used to cure various ailments in the human body. But this 5000-year old science is still struggling to get that trust from the modern generation. The era of Allopathy has taken a toll out of the life of the patients but still prefer Allopathy rather opting for ayurvedic medicines for almost all #chronic_diseases. The reason is the common myths that are attached to the #ayurvedic_treatment, that need to be debunked:

1. People believe that ayurvedic medicines are free from any side-effects. This is not true, anything
that exists in nature has some negative impact when you take it without considering your medical condition. It may happen that you are allergic to some herbs and so consuming those herbs without consulting an ayurvedic consult may affect you.

2. #Ayurvedic treatment does not need a specialist: This is another common belief among the patients that ayurvedic medicine does not need an #ayurvedic_specialist as this is an ancient science. However, they don’t know that ayurvedic medicines are prescribed based on the #health condition of the patient that is diagnosed by the specialist only.

3. Ayurvedic medicines consist of herbs only: #Ayurvedic_treatment not only constitutes of #herbal
medicines but fixed yoga and exercise regime also. Honey, certain spices, butter, ghee, milk, and so many other products are also used in their organic forms to cure the patient based on the treatment he needs.

4. #Ayurveda is a slow process: It usually happens that patients always go for #allopathic_treatment
as the first solution and only when he does not get the desired result, he opts for #Ayurveda. By the time he consults an ayurvedic specialist, the problem becomes severe that it takes time to get recovered. And the patient believes that ayurvedic treatment is a steady process.

5. Ayurvedic treatments are expensive: The rise of Ayurveda and its commercialization has led to the expensive nature of Ayurveda. This myth is also prevalent among the patients. The cost of ayurvedic treatment is not so die-hard, as most of the herbs come from nature only. #Ayurvedic_treatment can charge you bucks only when it has precious ingredients or are customizable just for you.

6. Ayurvedic medications never expire: This is one of the worst myths by far in the Ayurveda. The
shelf life of the ayurvedic medicines may vary, but mostly they last only for a specific time. It is
advised to the patients to read the label before consuming any ayurvedic medicine.

Karma Ayurveda is one such institute that offers #ayurvedic_treatment to cure #kidney_disease with its ayurvedic medicines. This kidney care unit is working progressively to eliminate the consequences of #dialysis and transplant from the lives of the patients with nature’s herbs.

Should magnesium be consumed by kidney patients?

#Magnesium is an important mineral found in our body that strengthens our bones therefore, one should include this mineral in our diet. The kidney plays an important role in magnesium homeostasis, but the #renal handles this mineral in a highly adaptable manner which reduces when renal functionality deteriorates significantly. This means magnesium is needed by the body, but it cannot work to reduce the #chronic stages of CKD when disease increases rapidly.

In #CKD, an increase in the excretion of magnesium can reimburse for the loss of #glomerular filtration rate and maintain the apt levels of serum magnesium. The low level of serum magnesium and lower dietary magnesium can also increase the risk of end-stage #renal_disease among the patients.

However, in more advanced CKD when your creatinine drops by less than 30mL/min this mineral
unmistakably develops hypermagnesaemia frequently in patients with creatinine dropping to 10mL/min.

The benefits of magnesium do not end here for kidney patients as this mineral can largely help in the
elimination of #kidney stones from the body. That means if you add magnesium in your diet, you can
reduce the risk of kidney stones. Taking magnesium citrate with vitamin B on a daily basis can reduce
the chronic pain you suffer from a kidney_stone. During the digestion, magnesium helps bind up oxalate and prevents it from increasing up in the body. While it removes oxalate crystals during urine excretion.

Studies have demonstrated that deficiency of magnesium can lead to hypertension, insulin resistance,
and is associated with cardiovascular risks. A rise in the low consumption of magnesium can
progressively lead you to #CKD.

So, if you want to reduce the severity of CKD, consuming magnesium foods, for instance, avocado,
broccoli, raw cocoa, beans, bananas, and pulses can really help you! Further, it is suggested that magnesium consumption should be governed by the dietician based on individual reports and conditions.

#Karma_Ayurveda has helped more than 35000 patients suffering from the complications of kidney
disease with its #ayurvedic_treatment. The diet plan, lifestyle changes suggestion and ayurvedic
medicines by Dr. Puneet Dhawan can help you know everything about your #kidney_problem. If you want to end your kidney problems in a natural way then head to Karma Ayurveda!

Causes of Kidney disease

Having knowledge about the causes of kidney disease can help you get the right treatment and feel your best.  Here we have discussed certain major causes of kidney disease that can help prevent you from a kidney failure condition:

1.       Diabetes: Diabetes is one of the causes of kidney disease. Our lifestyle and dietary habits play an important role in maintaining the health of our kidneys. What we eat each day can affect the blood sugar level in the body and thereby our kidney. When diabetes is controlled by #ayurvedic treatment, the associated kidney #disease can often be slowed down.

2.       High blood pressure: A raised level of blood pressure can severely affect your heart and kidney health. Over time, high blood pressure can cause blood vessels around the kidneys to weaken. These damaged vessels are not able to deliver enough blood to the kidney tissues making you prone to end-stage renal disease.

3.       Excess consumption of antibiotics: Taking too much of painkillers can alleviate your kidney problems and can adversely lift your blood pressure. This is why you should not take antibiotics without prescriptions from your doctor if you are already a kidney patient.

4.       #Obesity: Putting on weight can affect the functioning of your kidney. A healthy diet together with some weight loss exercise can help relieves stress from your life, also eliminating the risk of heart failure and kidney failure.

5.       Smoking: Cutting smoking habit from your life can prevent your life from choking out. Your #kidney gets critically impacted when you smoke cigars or consume nicotine. Smoking slows down the blood flow to the important organs like the heart, kidney, and lungs.

6.       Holding pee for a long time: Most of the people have the tendency to control their pee for a long time which can be dangerous for them. Stored urine in the bladders if not flushed out can backflow to your kidneys. As you know urine is a kind of toxin which can harm your kidney.

7.        Not drinking enough of the water: To let your kidney function properly, it is necessary to drink 8-10 glasses of water each day. When you consume less water, toxins in your kidney do not get flushed out properly and remain in the kidney thereby causing harm.

Every ayurvedic treatment for kidney disease begins with determining the cause behind the problem.  This is because Ayurveda focuses on the elimination of the problem by reducing the risk factors rather than on the kidney problem only.

Karma Ayurveda is one such health care unit that offers ayurvedic treatment to its patients. If you want herbal treatment to strengthen your kidney, then approach us!

Chronic kidney disease is a health condition in which your #kidney becomes unhealthy as they lose their functionality over a period. • ·         Diabetes
  • ·         Heart disease

  • ·         Polycystic kidney disease or nephrotic syndrome

What you should eat or avoid during CKD
Reduction of the severity of #CKD comes with taking charge of what you should eat or avoid during the problem. Here is a nutritional guide that is a part of ayurvedic treatment for chronic kidney disease, for you:

·         Phosphorus: Phosphorus is essential for the optimum health of your bone. It is present in almost every food you consume. While an apt amount of phosphorus is good for you, an excess can be equally harmful to your #health.

Protein: To a #kidney_patient doctors always suggest a diet that is low in protein because it can adversely burden your kidney. But the reverse is the case when you are on #dialysis as at that time you will need more protein.

Potassium: A kidney-friendly is one that is low in potassium and rich in fiber. Consult your ayurvedic specialist as he will suggest the right amount of nutrients you need based on your disease conditions and other health factors.

Sodium: Excess sodium can increase your #blood_pressure and may harm your kidney’s health. Sodium also makes you feel thirsty and increases the need to consume more water which is not considered good for #kidney patients.

Having a #kidney-friendly diet is as important as your #ayurvedic_treatment_for_chronic_kidney disease. The best ayurvedic specialist at #Karma_Ayurveda suggests you certain modification in your lifestyle and dietary habits so that situation does not become adverse.

Types of kidney disease

The term kidney disease refers to any disorder or impairment that can affect how healthy kidney functions. A kidney is said to be diseased when it loses its ability to filter out excess toxins from the body. The result is the accumulation of fluid in the tissues thereby causing several other impairments in the body. Due to this fluid buildup, you may notice swelling in the hands, ankles, or around your face. If not treated on time or avoided the complications may even lead to kidney failure. Here is a list of different types of kidney disease that you should know:

Polycystic Kidney Disease: PKD is an inherited disorder in which a fluid called cysts develops within or at the linings of your kidney thereby making your kidney enlarge than its normal size. However, cysts are non-cancerous fluid. Cysts may vary in size and grow by 0.5 or larger before you actually diagnose the symptoms. Since PKD is inherited, it is necessary to have one or more family members to be diagnosed with the same. This disease may also lead to progressive loss of kidney function as the age passes.

Acute kidney disease: Acute kidney injury is sudden damage to the kidneys, therefore, patient’s kidneys become unable to filter out toxins from the blood. When kidneys become unhealthy, fluid gets build up in the blood leading to excess toxins in your blood. Acute kidney injury may also lead to acute renal failure if not cured on time. The main causes of AKD are excess consumption of drugs, kidney stones, enlarged prostate, and chronic kidney disease may also be turned out to be acute kidney injury.

Chronic kidney failure: When kidney’s functionality get worsens gradually over a period of time it is said to be CKD. CKD also aids to end-stage renal failure or kidney failure. Therefore, it is imperative to start ayurvedic treatment for kidney disease to avoid such conditions. There are many underlying causes of CKD, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, damaged to the blood vessels, PKD, glomerulonephritis, and UTI etc.

Nephrotic syndrome: Nephrotic syndrome is not a disease but a kind of disorder that exhibits one or more symptoms in the body. Nephrotic arises because of too much protein in the urine, low level of protein in the blood, and high level of fat and cholesterol in the patient’s blood. Nephrotic syndrome is more common among the children between ages 2 to 6. Swelling in the body parts, weight gain, loss of appetite, dizziness are some of the tell-tale signs of the nephrotic syndrome.

How to maintain creatinine level naturally

Our body produces tons of chemical waste each second because of our biological system. Creatinine is one such chemical waste produced when we use our muscles. This chemical waste is found in the blood or in the urine and is passed out by our kidneys through urine. As you know, blood needs to be clean for the body to work properly. The presence of more creatinine in the blood makes our blood vessels weak which in turn hampers the functionality of a healthy kidney. High creatinine in the body exposes our body to life-threatening kidney disorders, such as uremia and it also contributes to kidney failure if remain untreated for a prolonged period of time. Therefore, begin with ayurvedic treatment for kidney disease as soon as you diagnose the problem.  Here are some simple home remedies that can help to cure this disorder:
·         Reduce protein intake: Taking too much creatinine temporary spikes up the protein level, even in a healthy person. Red meat is the muscle tissues of the animal, which is already rich in creatinine, therefore should be restricted. Swap meat, dairy products for vegetable proteins such as whole grains, beans etc.

·         Increase fiber intake: As you know, fiber helps in the better digestion. It is also favorable for the patients with high creatinine level. Increased consumption of fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains can help patients with chronic kidney disease.

·         Drink more water: In some patients, it has been seen that dehydration can raise their creatinine severely. However, patients already diagnosed with kidney problem may have an issue with fluid intake. So, consult a doctor before fixing how much water you should drink daily.

·         Exercise less: Creatinine is a waste produced with muscle metabolism. Hardcore and rigorous exercise should be avoided by the patient. However, you can continue with yoga on an empty stomach because it is good for your kidney.

·         Avoid supplements: Some athletes consume supplements to enhance their muscles, to enhance their performance, that are rich in creatinine. Since creatinine is a substance made naturally in your liver. It should not be consumed in the form of supplements.

·         Consume salvia: In Ayurveda, we have some herbs, consuming them can bring out the positive results. Other herbs that can help the patient are, stringing nettle, cinnamon, ginseng, dandelion root, and chamomile but should be consumed only after prescriptions from the best ayurvedic kidney doctor

Breakfast Diet For Kidney Patients

The breakfast diet plan for the kidney patients can be quite daunting. You need to know not only about what foods are good or bad for you but something that is satisfying and enjoyable as well. A kidney-friendly breakfast begins with food that is healthy for your heart and kidney and does not overburden the organ.  Since every kidney patient is different from each other and each meal you take should be planned by your kidney specialist. Here are some dos and don’ts of what you can eat in your breakfast:
1.       Less salt: Excess consumption of salt i.e. sodium increases your blood pressure and so an ideal diet should contain less than 2300 milligrams of sodium. Rinse-off canned vegetables and fruits before consuming, cook fresh food from scratch rather than having frozen breakfast.

2.       A right amount of protein: Consuming a large amount of protein causes the kidney to function harder. This reduces its capacity to function in a healthy way thereby making it impaired. So, you should avoid food such as milk, cheese, meat, and eggs and replace them with wheat grains, oats etc. While patients already on dialysis and transplant should consume high protein foods in their breakfast.

3.       Fresh fruits and vegetables: Fruits and vegetables rich in potassium can raise the blood potassium level. Damage kidneys build up potassium in the blood causing heart problems. Soak fresh fruits and vegetables half an hour beforehand to allow the potassium to get rinsed away.

4.       Fat: Our body needs fat to get energy and helps to stay healthy.  But too much fat can make you gain weight and reduce heart health.  Healthy fat called unsaturated fat such as olive oil, peanut oil should be consumed while butter, meat should be avoided.

5.       A kidney patient should never skip breakfast as this drops blood sugar level causing weakness in the body of the patient. Along with the diet plan, ayurvedic treatment for kidney disease can help the patients manage the symptoms of kidney failure.
